Bio-Remodeling Aftercare Guide: Support Your Skin Post-Treatment

If you’ve recently received a bio-remodeling treatment using injectable hyaluronic acid (such as Profhilo®), following the correct aftercare steps can help maximise your results and minimise downtime.
Bio-remodeling treatments work by deeply hydrating the skin and stimulating collagen production, leading to improved texture, elasticity, and overall skin quality. While results develop gradually over the weeks following treatment, your aftercare is essential in supporting comfort, recovery, and long-term skin benefits.
Bio-Remodeling Aftercare Guide
For the First 4–6 Hours After Treatment:
Remain upright (no lying down or bending over)
Avoid touching, rubbing, or applying pressure to the treated areas
Refrain from applying makeup or skincare products unless advised
For the First 3 Days:
Avoid vigorous exercise, saunas, steam rooms, or hot showers
Refrain from alcohol and anti-inflammatory medications (unless prescribed)
Skip active skincare ingredients (like retinol or AHAs) around the treated area
Continue to gently cleanse with mild products and keep skin hydrated
For the First 14 Days:
Avoid facial treatments (e.g. skin needling, peels, facials)
Delay dental visits or treatments that require lying flat
Protect your skin daily with a broad-spectrum SPF 30+
Stay well hydrated to support internal and skin-level hydration
Immediately After Your Bio-Remodeling Appointment
Bio-remodeling works by delivering high-purity hyaluronic acid just beneath the skin’s surface to stimulate hydration, collagen, and elastin. Unlike volumising dermal fillers, this treatment may improve overall skin quality, firmness, and luminosity.
As with any medical procedure, bio-remodeling treatments carry risks. These may include, but are not limited to:
→ redness, bruising or bleeding
→ temporary discomfort, pain or swelling at or around the treatment site
→ itching or skin discoloration
→ vascular occlusion (blocked blood vessel that can lead to skin tissue death)
→ lumps (nodules) forming under the skin
→ allergic or inflammatory reactions
→ weakness of facial, head or neck muscles, which can cause difficulty swallowing or speaking
Recovery experiences and outcomes can vary between individuals, and follow-up care may be required.

When to Contact the Clinic
Please contact us immediately if you notice:
→ severe or increasing pain
→ skin that becomes pale, white, or dusky (blanching)
→ areas that feel cold, firm, or look mottled
→ prolonged or worsening swelling
→ signs of infection (redness, heat, discharge, or fever)
These symptoms could indicate a vascular issue or delayed reaction and must be assessed promptly.

When Will I See Results from Bio-Remodeling?
Results develop gradually. Some clients notice improved hydration and texture within the first week, with peak improvement occurring around 4–6 weeks after your second session.
Follow-Up Appointments
For optimal and lasting results, a second treatment is typically recommended 4 weeks after the first, followed by maintenance sessions every 6–9 months, depending on your skin goals.
